To achieve the objectives set, AMPT would adopt the format of selecting well-known or popular locations near private and public housing estates and proceed to organise a series of 3-day events, to be held each quarter. The inaugural event would be held in October 2001 and the next would be in Jan 2002.

These activities would be publicised by a printed newsletter for the residents, called Around My Place, and a website Around My Place, to provide locals & foreign visitors with a forum and permanent site to focus.
