Events

To start the inaugural event, the location of Serangoon Garden has been selected. For readers who think they know something about the area, we would be organising a quiz related to the area. The balloted 50 winners of the quiz would be given a $50 gift voucher from a local well-known merchant.

Next Location

The location for our event in January has been selected. We now have to obtain support from the relevant MP and other grassroots leaders to agree to our idea. We would like readers to tell us where they think this place is from the photograph attached.

Clue :

1. Used to be a place where all fresh off the boat Chinese immigrants were sent to.
2. Still thriving and known as the place for bargains and the traditional. Getting trendy with refurbishment.

New Location

We would like readers to submit the areas they like us to feature. All proposal must come with a list of reasons why they think the place could be featured. Such reasons could be on food, shopping, something interesting, something historical and not well known.

In fact, we would like to invite all readers to think about coming forth to work with us to develop the concept and the local sites. After all, we are trying to foster community spirit within each location and throughout Singapore.

We hope that this could be the way community events such as ours could develop and become the work of everyone from the selected location. The work would then be that much more meaningful for the residents of the very community. In fact, we hope that each location would come forth to boast about the well-known or famous 'product' of their area.
